The catalogue of the National Library of Russia evidently has a very good collection of early Russian books and journals. |
The interface is a bit problematic. Like most online catalogues, this interface allows one to paste in a search string copied from somewhere; the alternative is to use an associated on-screen Cyrillic keyboard. The results screen indicates that the search yielded a certain number of hits. When you view the search results, they are presented as a sequence of digital images of the appropriate cards from the card catalogue, some of the records being handwritten. Going from one record to another is rather slow. Moreover, once you find the appropriate entry, you cannot copy data from the digital image; it must be transcribed letter-by-letter. |
